Talk about a financial bubble.  The US is now $18.4 trillion in debt.  Can you imagine what it will look like when this bubble bursts?  I think it'll make the great depression look like a slight dip.
I know that much of the debt is manipulated derivatives and other phony nonsense, but much of it is also a direct result of a bloated, oversized government that has it's fingers in everything that it possibly can.
Since when is it the government's business what kind of light bulb we use or whether everyone has a safety net i.e. Social Security and welfare.  Before anyone reading this assumes I don't care about the poor and aged, wrong!.  I think the care of those in need belongs to us.  We the people.  Do we really want a group of people in charge of the needy who would arrest a WWII veteran for feeding the homeless?  It's not the government's job to feed any one except the military and they don't even want to do that.
I heard a candidate in one of the recent Presidential Primary debates describe one of his opponents as someone who believes that the US is a gov't that has a people.  He said I believe that 'the US is a people that has a gov't'.
Why does every aspect of our lives have to be lived through the gov't?  I don't remember the section of the constitution where it says that the federal government has the right to say how much dust a farm can raise?
One thing the gov't is supposed to do is secure the border.  We all know how well that is going.
Another responsibility that the gov't is given in the constitution is the responsibility to print money.  This is a responsibility that the gov't has farmed out to the private Federal Reserve.  The private Federal Reserve is partially owned/run by those wonderful philanthropists the Rockefellers.  You know, that loving, eugenics family that is so proud of their secret cabal with other bankers to take over the world.
Can you imagine what would happen the if the US Gov't minded it's own business and actually did the things that it was supposed to do?  Can you imagine if that happened overnight?  We would be lost.  We have become so dependent on the gov't we wouldn't know what to do.  Gov't has become our Mommy and Daddy.  Or in other words our Big Brother.  So am I arguing against it?  No, I'm saying that it would be difficult, but well worth it.  Do I think that we can get the American people to quit gov't cold turkey?  No, but I think we can, in small ways start weaning ourselves off of it.  We can remind gov't 'officials' that they are not officials but servants, our servants.  We can remind Police Officers that we are not civilians because that implies that they are military which they are not.
